Andy Warhol’s iconic “Double Elvis (Ferus Type)” portrait is expected to fetch up to $50 million when it is auctioned by Sotheby’s in May.

“Double Elvis” features Elvis in a pose from his 1960 movie “Flaming Star”. The work was one of 22 pieces in Andy Warhol’s Elvis series, of which nine are in museum collections.

The last “Double Elvis” to come up for auction was in 1995, but prices have since soared for Warhol’s work. In 2009, Warhol’s “Eight Elvises,” inspired by the same original Elvis image, sold for a reported $100 million in a private transaction.
