Thin Lizzy planning new album
Written by admin on September 18, 2012 – 8:29 am -The announcement that Thin Lizzy are to release their first album since “Thunder and Lightning” (1983) will be met with a mixed reception, as it will also be their first album without former frontman Phil Lynott.
Guitarist Scott Gorham told HotPress.com:
“I’ll be going out to Los Angeles at the end of the month to work on some songs with Damon [Johnson] and then I think we will start recording in October in our producer Kevin Shirley’s studio. We are all excited about the new record but especially Ricky [Warwick] and Damon, they just can’t wait to start recording!” |
Scott Gorham, Brian Downey and Darren Wharton are the Thin Lizzy veterans in the current line-up. They are joined by new frontman Ricky Warwick, keyboardist Darren Wharton and bassist Marco Mendoza.
Gorham has said that a couple of songs from the new album might make their live debut at the band’s show in Dublin on December 13.
A new Thin Lizzy book titled “The Boys are Back in Town” will be published in November. The book, penned by Gorham and journalist Harry Doherty, is available for pre-order now.
