“The Pink Floyd Channel” launches on SiriusXM
Written by admin on May 20, 2012 – 7:44 am -Sirius XM Radio is launching “The Pink Floyd Channel,” which will feature music, interviews and historic concert broadcasts from the Pink Floyd archives.
“The Pink Floyd Channel” will launch on Friday, May 25 at 12:00 pm ET and will run through Monday, May 28 on channel 27. It will also be available on Friday, June 29 through Monday, July 9 on Sirius channel 142 and XM channel 43, and for an extended period from June 29 as a 24/7 channel online on channel 802 and through the SiriusXM Internet Radio App for smartphones and mobile devices. |
Listeners can expect to hear Pink Floyd’s recently remastered classic albums played in their entirety, live concerts, demos and outtakes, and also solo albums from Pink Floyd members Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Richard Wright, Nick Mason and Syd Barrett.
“The Pink Floyd Channel” will be hosted by DJ Jim Ladd, who has been conducting interviews with Pink Floyd since their first visit to the United States in 1979.
Roger Waters announced the launch of “The Pink Floyd Channel” on the Jim Ladd Show, noting:
“I can’t think of a better home for the Pink Floyd catalogue, and all the solo stuff, than SiriusXM. How cool for all our fans and what a great way to introduce the work to new generations of listeners.” |
