The Motown Sound: In Performance at the White House
Written by admin on February 24, 2011 – 9:27 am -The President and First Lady will host a musical celebration of Black History Month and the legacy of Motown in the East Room of the White House tonight.
“The Motown Sound: In Performance at the White House” will be hosted by Jamie Foxx. Artists scheduled to perform include Smokey Robinson, John Legend, Sheryl Crow, Seal, Nick Jonas, Amber Riley, Natasha Bedingfield, Gloriana, Ledisi, Mark Salling and Jordin Sparks.
The PBS “In Performance at the White House” series began in 1978 and has featured a broad range of musical genres over the years and some of the biggest music stars of all time, including Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan and Aretha Franklin.

“The Motown Sound: In Performance at the White House” will be televised on March 1 at 8 pm ET on PBS stations nationwide. It will also be shown on March 11 on the American Forces Network to American service men and women around the world.
