“A Day in the Life” closed the Beatles’ classic album “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.” The song was banned by the BBC as the Corporation felt it encouraged “a permissive attitude to drug-taking.”

Rolling Stone magazine? Really? Are you serious? Rolling Stone hasn’t been relevant for the last 15 years.
Do we agree with their list? Who cares? I’m a hardcore Beatles nut, and I still don’t see any point to this. But I guess churning out more Beatles stuff is a great way to sell product. It worked like a charm for EMI last Sept.

I must agree with Scott G. Had this list been released in a time when Rolling Stone was actually relevant, I might have cared. I, too, am a crazy Beatles fan, and although it is nice to see them in modern day media, this list is really pointless.

Don’t take it so seriously guys. Any list like this isn’t meant to be definitive. Lists encourage discussion and in some cases consideration of songs that haven’t been given a spin for a while. Besides, it is a good issue, providing info on 100 of the Beatles’ best moments in the studio.

Is there any other band that has 100 great songs to make a list like this? I don’t think so.
I am pleased that Let it Be made the top ten. I’ve never understand why critics never seemed to appreciate this wonderful album.
