Record boss slams Tom Jones’ new album
Written by admin on July 5, 2010 – 9:46 pm -Sir Tom Jones’ latest album, “Praise and Blame,” is making headlines before it is even released, due to a critical mauling by an executive at his record company.
The leaked email from Island Records’ vice-president, David Sharpe, called for colleagues to shelve the project or “get my money back.” Island signed Sir Tom from EMI for £1.5m last year. |

Happy 70th Birthday Tom Jones
Written by admin on June 7, 2010 – 6:05 am -Sir Tom Jones celebrates his 70th birthday today. He was born Thomas John Woodward in Trefforest, Pontypridd, Wales. Tom’s long-time manager Gordon Mills suggested the stage name “Tom Jones” in 1964, in reference to the title character of the hit film and to emphasise Tom’s Welsh nationality. |

Tom Jones on “Later with Jools Holland”
Written by admin on May 25, 2010 – 7:22 pm -Tom Jones will appear on tonight’s “Later With Jools Holland,” which airs at 10pm on BBC2.
Tom will be singing his version of the Bob Dylan track “What Good Am I?” which will be released as a single with “Burning Hell” on his 70th birthday (June 7). These tracks will also appear on Tom’s new album, “Praise and Blame,” due out on July 26. |
