Song of the Week #22 – “My Generation”

The Who’s classic “My Generation” is this week’s Song of the Week. “My Generation” was released in October 1965, backed with “Daddy Rolling Stone” in the UK and “Anytime You Want Me” in the US. The song also appeared on The Who’s debut album, “My Generation,” which was released in December 1965.

Song of the Week #21 – “Summertime Blues”

Eddie Cochran recorded some of the best songs of the rock ‘n’ roll era before his tragic death, including this week’s Song of the Week “Summertime Blues.”

“Summertime Blues” was released in June 1958 as the B-side of “Love Again” but was soon elevated to the A-side.

Who memorabilia headlines rock and pop auction

A Gibson SG guitar played by Pete Townshend on a 1971 tour with The Who was the highest price item at Christie’s Rock and Pop Memorabilia auction, held in South Kensington, London, last night. Townshend’s guitar sold for £49,250, which was double the estimate.
