Future uncertain for The Who

Pete Townshend has told Rolling Stone that The Who may have to stop performing live due to his returning tinnitus.

The Who had planned a sping 2010 tour and some festival appearances, but cancelled these when Townshend’s tinnitus returned while he was working on his musical ‘Floss.’ Townshend told Rolling Stone:

The Who halftime Super Bowl show

The Who rocked the Sun Life Stadium last night with their 12-minute Super Bowl halftime concert.

Singer Roger Daltrey and guitarist Pete Townshend, accompanied by their backing band, played solid versions of “Pinball Wizard,” “Baba O’Riley,” “Who Are You?,” “See Me, Feel Me” and “Won’t Get Fooled Again.” Zak Starkey, son of Beatle Ringo Starr, was on drums.

The Who’s Super Bowl set list

Pete Townshend has revealed details of the set list for The Who’s Super Bowl halftime performance.

Townshend told Billboard magazine that the band will play a “compact medley” of classic hits, including “Baba O’Riley,” “Pinball Wizard,” the close of “Tommy,” “Who Are You,” and “Won’t Get Fooled Again.”

Roger Daltrey announces solo tour

Roger Daltrey is gearing up to launch his first solo tour of North America since 1985.
Roger Daltrey Use it or Lost it tour Pete Townshend’s younger brother Simon Townshend, a touring guitarist with the Who, will accompany Daltrey on the tour, along with guitarist and musical director Frank Simes, keyboardist Loren Gold, bassist Jon Button and drummer Scott Devours.
