Andrew Love of the Memphis Horns dies aged 70
Written by admin on April 14, 2012 – 1:50 pm -Andrew Love, who played saxophone on countless classic recordings as a member of the Memphis Horns, sadly passed away on Thursday (April 12) from complications associated with Alzheimer’s. He was 70.
As tenor saxophonist for the Memphis Horns, Andrew Love played an important role in creating the soul sound that came out of Memphis in the 1960s and 1970s, principally from Stax Records. |
