New exhibit celebrates Motown girl groups

Gladys Horton of the Marvelettes dies aged 65
Written by admin on January 27, 2011 – 8:45 pm -Gladys Horton, former lead singer of the Marvelettes, sadly died yesterday (Jan 26) aged 65 at a nursing home in Sherman Oaks, California. She was recuperating at the home after suffering a stroke last year. |

The 2011 Grammy Hall of Fame inductees
Written by admin on December 10, 2010 – 10:13 am -The Beatles, Fats Domino, Otis Redding and Joan Baez are among the artists whose recordings will be entered into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2011.
The Grammy Hall of Fame Award was established by The Recording Academy’s National Trustees in 1973. The aim was to “honor recordings of lasting qualitative or historical significance that are at least 25 years old.” To date, 881 recordings have been inducted. |
