Song of the Week #25 – “You Really Got Me”
Written by admin on October 25, 2010 – 6:42 am -The Kinks’ innovative 1964 rocker “You Really Got Me” is this week’s Song of the Week.
The song was released as a single in August 1964, backed with “It’s All Right.” It also closed side one of their debut album “Kinks”, which was released in October 1964 in the UK. The US version of the album was shortened and retitled “You Really Got Me.” |

Kinks bassist Peter Quaife dies
Written by admin on June 25, 2010 – 8:52 pm -The original bass player with the Kinks, Peter Quaife, died on Wednesday (June 23) aged 66. No cause of death has been revealed, but Quaife had been undergoing kidney dialysis for many years. |

Do It Again – Quest to reunite the Kinks

The hilarious documentary will go on general release later this year and has featured at a number of recent film festivals, including the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, the Atlanta Film Festival, the Nashville Film Festival and the Independent Film Festival Boston. |
