“The Dave Clark Five and Beyond – Glad All Over” – Two-hour special
Written by admin on March 14, 2014 – 6:07 pm -Great Performances is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the British invasion with the documentary “The Dave Clark Five and Beyond – Glad All Over”. The two-hour special will air on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 8 p.m. and Friday, April 11 at 10 p.m. on PBS.
The film tells the DC5’s story from their working class roots in war-torn England through to their rise to worldwide fame, which saw them achieve 15 consecutive Top 20 U.S. hit singles and sell more than 100 million records.

Rick Huxley of The Dave Clark Five dies aged 72
Written by admin on February 13, 2013 – 10:20 am -Rick Huxley, bassist for The Dave Clark Five, died on Monday aged 72 after suffering from emphysema for a number of years.
Huxley was born in Dartford, Kent on August 5, 1940, and was a founding member of The Dave Clark Five as a teenager in 1958. They would become one of the most successful of the 1960s beat groups. |

British Pathé – A rock ‘n’ roll treasure trove

Not surprisingly, Pathé often turned its attention to the popular music stars of the day and as a result its archive is a real treasure trove for those interested in the great rock and pop legends, albeit with a British bias. |
