Barry Gibb to receive lifetime achievement award
Written by admin on May 29, 2013 – 7:19 pm -Barry Gibb will receive the Sony Mobile lifetime achievement award at the Silver Clef Awards next month.
Gibb is being recognised for his decades of hits with the Bee Gees, and for his songwriting and production work with the likes of Dionne Warwick, Barbra Streisand and Diana Ross.
The Silver Clef Awards raise funds for the Nordoff Robbins charity, which provides music therapy for adults and children.

Library of Congress adds 25 recordings to National Recording Registry
Written by admin on March 21, 2013 – 9:27 pm -Recordings by Janis Joplin (with Big Brother and the Holding Company), Simon & Garfunkel, Chubby Checker, and The Ramones are among the latest additions to the Libary of Congress’ National Recording Registry.
Every year, the National Recording Preservation Board selects 25 recordings annually that are “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant” and are at least 10 years old.

Barry Gibb releases tribute video for brother Robin
Written by admin on May 26, 2012 – 6:58 am -Barry Gibb has released a video to pay tribute to his brother, Robin, who passed away last weekend aged 62.
The video, which is titled “Bodding” (the Gibb family’s nickname for Robin), features the Bee Gees’ song “Heart Like Mine” playing over clips of Robin, Maurice and Barry. Maurice died in 2003 of complications after intestinal surgery.

Robin Gibb – 1949-2012
Written by admin on May 20, 2012 – 11:41 pm -Robin Gibb sadly died today after an 18-month battle with cancer. He was 62.
The family of the Bee Gees singer issued the following statement:
“The family of Robin Gibb, of the Bee Gees, announce with great sadness that Robin passed away today following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery.” |

Robin Gibb makes his classical debut with “The Titanic Requiem”
