Celebrating 50 years since The Beatles’ Cavern debut
Written by admin on February 9, 2011 – 6:00 am -Fans of The Beatles will gather at the Cavern Club today to mark the 50th anniversary of the band’s debut performance at the venue.
The Beatles’ debut at the club was a lunchtime session on February 9, 1961. This was followed by almost three hundred performances before their final appearance at the club on August 3, 1963. |

Hollywood screening of Beatles’ first American concert
Written by admin on January 13, 2011 – 10:48 pm -On February 11, Hollywood’s Egyptian Theater will screen the complete American concert debut of The Beatles, with special guests The Beach Boys and Lesley Gore.
This is the first time the film has been seen in its entirety since the four nationwide closed-circuit screenings which took place over two weekends in March 1964.

Elvis and The Beatles most commonly forged autographs
Written by admin on January 2, 2011 – 6:09 am -Elvis Presley and The Beatles were the most commonly forged autographs of entertainment/historical figures in 2010, according to autograph authentication firm PSA/DNA Authentication Services.
PSA/DNA notes that the amount of authentic Elvis autographs is “extremely limited” and that there are a large number of forgeries in the United States and Europe – particularly Germany and the Netherlands. |

Abbey Road crossing receives Grade II listing
