Rolling Stones jam session scheduled
Written by admin on November 9, 2011 – 5:25 pm -The Rolling Stones will be rehearsing in a London studio this month, according to Keith Richards.
Richards told Rolling Stone:
“We’re just going to play a little together, because we haven’t played for three or four years. You don’t necessarily want to rehearse or write anything – you just want to touch bases. That’s a good start: me, Charlie and Ronnie. Mick’s welcome, and I’m sure he’ll turn up, but right now we just want to get our chops down.” |
Next year will mark the 50th anniversary of the Rolling Stones’ first gig and there have been rumours that this will be celebrated, but nothing has been confirmed. One of the barriers is the complicated relationship between Richards and Jagger, with the latter reportedly still angry about comments made by Richards in his autobiography “Life.” Richards’ “Life” received the Prize for Distinguished Biography at the Mailer awards in New York yesterday. The award was presented by his friend Bill Clinton.
While fans wait for news of the Rolling Stones’ next move, they can enjoy deluxe and super-deluxe reissues of the band’s 1978 album “Some Girls” later this month.
Also on the way are DVD and Blu-ray releases of “Some Girls Live in Texas” which features what promises to be an exciting live show from 1978.
Here’s “Beast of Burden” from “Some Girls Live in Texas”:
