Solomon sings up a storm…
Written by admin on March 21, 2009 – 9:43 pm -Now and then you hear a song and find yourself playing it over and over. Sometimes it’s the original recording and other times a fresh live approach. |
I’ve found myself coming back very often to a great performance of ‘Cry to Me’ by legendary soul singer Solomon Burke. The original Atlantic recording was made in 1961 and was a top five hit in 1962. The performance I’m highlighting today is from several years ago on the Jools Holland show. Jools and his Rythm and Blue Orchestra provide expert backing and Solomon sings up a storm.
