The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2015
Written by admin on December 16, 2014 – 1:27 pm -The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced that the 2015 inductees will be Lou Reed, Green Day, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Bill Withers, and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. Ringo Starr will receive the Award For Musical Excellence and the “5” Royales will receive the Early Influence Award.

“Released: The Human Rights Concerts 1986-1998” – Six DVD box set
Written by admin on November 13, 2013 – 6:02 pm -Amnesty International has released a six-DVD box set of material from its Human Rights concerts of 1986-1998, featuring performances by artists such as Bruce Springsteen, U2, Lou Reed, Sting, Radiohead, Peter Gabriel, Joni Mitchell, and many more.
The set features nearly 17 hours of content, comprising over 12 hours of footage from four concerts, and close to five hours of bonus content.

Lou Reed dies aged 71
Written by admin on October 27, 2013 – 7:20 pm -Legendary singer and songwriter Lou Reed died of a liver-related ailment in New York on Sunday morning (Oct 27). The former Velvet Underground frontman had a liver transplant earlier this year.

Lou Reed recovering after liver transplant
Written by admin on June 1, 2013 – 4:17 am -Lou Reed is recovering well from a liver transplant that he received last month, according to his wife, Laurie Anderson.
The 71-year-old US singer-songwriter and former Velvet Underground frontman had lifesaving surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Anderson told The Times:
“It’s as serious as it gets. He was dying. You don’t get it for fun… I don’t think he’ll ever totally recover from this, but he’ll certainly be back to doing [things] in a few months. He’s already working and doing t’ai chi. I’m very happy. It’s a new life for him.”
