Hard Rock Calling – round up
Written by admin on July 16, 2012 – 7:19 pm -Paul Simon closed another highly successful Hard Rock Calling festival in London’s Hyde Park yesterday (July 15).
Simon entertained the crowd with nearly three hours of classic songs spanning his Simon and Garfunkel and solo careers. The 70-year-old’s set included a complete run through of his 1986 album “Graceland,” with trumpet player Hugh Masekela and Ladysmith Black Mambazo, the South African male choir who appeared on the original album.

Isle of Wight Festival underway

Other acts to feature tonight were Kaiser Chiefs, The Courteeners, Band of Horses, We Are Scientists, Big Country, Alexandra Burke, Imelda May, and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts. |

Lady Gaga to pay tribute to John Lennon
Written by admin on September 1, 2010 – 9:40 pm -Yoko Ono has announced two concerts to commemorate what would have been John Lennon’s 70th birthday. The “We Are Plastic Ono Band” shows will take place on October 1 and 2 at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles.
Among the artists scheduled to appear alongside the Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band are Lady Gaga, Iggy Pop, the Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA, Jane’s Addiction’s Perry Farrell, Sonic Youth members Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon, and John Lennon’s son Sean. |
John Lennon would have been 70 years old on October 9. This year also marks the 30th anniversary of his untimely death on December 8.

October 5 will see a major series of John Lennon releases, including remasters of each of his solo albums (available individually or as 12-CD box set), a greatest hits CD and a 4-CD package of rarities.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2010
Written by admin on March 16, 2010 – 7:55 am -The 2010 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony took place last night at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, New York City.
Inductees in the performer category were:
ABBA – inducted by The Bee Gees’ Barry Gibb and Robin Gibb
Abba’s Frida Lyngstad and Benny Andersson accepted the award. Bandmates Bjorn Ulvaeus and Agnetha Faltskog couldn’t make the ceremony.
