“The House of the Rising Sun” was released on single in the UK in June 1964, backed with “Talkin’ ’bout You,” and debuted two months later in the US. It was also on the band’s self-titled American debut album, but not on the UK version. |

Eric Burdon has told Guitar International that a new album is on the way, once it has been “mixed and mastered and a title has been agreed upon.” This will be his first studio album since “Soul of a Man” in 2006. |

Eric Burdon of The Animals is 69 today, Les Chadwick of Gerry and the Pacemakers is 67 and Butch Trucks of The Allman Brothers Band is 63.
