David Bowie’s “Nothing Has Changed” goes beyond the hits
Written by admin on November 17, 2014 – 9:04 am -David Bowie’s “Nothing Has Changed” is released this week in a 3-CD deluxe edition, a 2-CD standard edition and a 2-LP vinyl edition. The aim was to bring together the definitive collection of Bowie’s music, spanning 1964 to 2014, alongside some unreleased material and tracks making their debut on CD.
Among the songs featured is the new recording “Sue (Or In a Season of Crime),” which is also released on single. The video for “Sue (Or In a Season of Crime)” was filmed in New York and London and directed by Tom Hingston and Jimmy King. The track was recorded earlier this year with the Maria Schneider Orchestra and produced by Bowie and Tony Visconti.
“Sue (Or In a Season of Crime)” – Video
The “Sue (Or In a Season of Crime)” single is backed with a radio edit of the song and another new track, “‘Tis A Pity She Was A Whore.” You can pick up the single as a digital bundle or on 10″ vinyl (see below).
The three editions of “Nothing Has Changed” are presented as separate releases entirely, with order of tracks and artwork different for each, ie the deluxe is not simply the standard edition with a bonus disc. Neither the 2-CD or 2-LP editions feature songs that are not on the deluxe edition, but there are some differences in mixes and edits used, eg the longer single version of “Absolute Beginners” is on the deluxe and vinyl editions. Some will no doubt be tempted to double-dip, but the deluxe edition is the recommended purchase.
