George Harrison and the Bee Gees to receive Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award
Written by admin on December 18, 2014 – 7:24 pm -George Harrison and the Bee Gees will receive the Recording Academy’s ® Lifetime Achievement award at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards in February.
The same honour will go to blues guitarist Buddy Guy, French composer Pierre Boulez, Tex-Mex accordionist Flaco Jiménez, country music duo the Louvin Brothers, and saxophonist and composer Wayne Shorter.

Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival 2013 – Line-up
Written by admin on April 5, 2013 – 8:51 am -Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival will take over New York’s Madison Square Garden on April 12 and 13.
Rolling Stone reports that Clapton will open the festival with an acoustic set, ahead of his headlining performance the following night. He will also take to the stage to jam with special guest on the opening night, including the Allman Brothers Band.

Led Zeppelin and Buddy Guy receive Kennedy Center Honors
Written by admin on December 3, 2012 – 1:57 pm -Led Zeppelin, Buddy Guy, ballerina Natalia Makarova, David Letterman, and Dustin Hoffman were this year’s recipients of Kennedy Center Honors in Washington D.C. on Sunday.
President Obama led tributes to the recipients at a special afternoon reception at the East Room of the White House, referring to Buddy Guy as one of the “last guardians of the great American blues” and joking that “a generation of young people survived teenage angst with a pair of headphones and a Zeppelin album, and a generation of parents wondered what all that noise was about.”

Eric Clapton announces 2013 tour and fourth Crossroads Guitar Festival
Written by admin on November 20, 2012 – 1:30 pm -Eric Clapton has announced a major tour for 2013, which will include a two-day Crossroads Guitar Festival at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
Clapton’s 12-city US tour opens on March 14 at the US Airways Center in Phoenix, AZ. He will be joined on the tour by long-time backing musicians Doyle Bramhall II (guitar), Steve Jordan (drums), Chris Stainton (piano and keyboards), and Willie Weeks (bass); and newcomers Paul Carrack (organ and keyboards) and Greg Leisz (pedal steel guitar). Michelle John and Sharon White will return as backing vocalists.

Led Zeppelin and Buddy Guy to receive Kennedy Center Honors
Written by admin on September 12, 2012 – 9:41 pm -The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts has revealed that the recipients of the 2012 Kennedy Center Honors will be Buddy Guy, Led Zeppelin, David Letterman, Dustin Hoffman and ballerina Natalia Makarova.
Kennedy Center Chairman, David M. Rubenstein, said “Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant transformed the sound of rock & roll with their lyricism and innovative song structures, infusing blues into the sound of rock & roll and laying the foundation for countless rock bands.”
