“Inside Abbey Road: The Best Studio in the World” – 2013 events
Written by admin on November 13, 2012 – 6:39 pm -Abbey Road Studios has announced a new series of talks by Brian Kehew and Kevin Ryan (authors of the critically acclaimed book “Recording the Beatles”).
“Inside Abbey Road: The Best Studio in the World” will explore the history and the present day action at Abbey Road Studios with rare archive photos, film and audio, showing changes to the studio and equipment. Kehew and Ryan will illustrate Abbey Road Studios’ long progression through all kinds of music, from classical to rock and beyond, plus the methods used to record in each style/period.

Abbey Road Studios opens doors for special exhibition
Written by admin on January 4, 2012 – 7:00 pm -Abbey Road Studios is opening its doors to the public for a special event on March 10 as part of its 80th anniversary celebrations.
The Studio Two presentation will include a fascinating talk on “80 Years of Recording at Abbey Road Studios” by “Recording the Beatles” authors Brian Kehew and Kevin Ryan. The talk will utilise rare archive photos, film and audio to explore the studio’s decades of landmark recordings and sonic innovations. Artists discussed will include Sir Edward Elgar, The Shadows, Peter Sellers, Helen Shapiro, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Hollies, The Zombies, the Swingin’ Blue Jeans and Kate Bush. There will also be time to consider the magical film scores recorded over the years at Abbey Road, including “Star Wars,” “Lord of the Rings,” and “Harry Potter.”

Abbey Road crossing receives Grade II listing

The Beatles break up – forty years ago today
Written by admin on April 10, 2010 – 7:26 am -It was forty years ago today that Paul McCartney announced he was leaving the Beatles, thereby bringing an end to the most successfull band of all time.
The announcement wasn’t a bolt out of the blue as there had been lots of speculation over the fate of the Beatles in the previous 12 months, in light of solo projects that were being undertaken and rumours of increasing disunity within the band. |
