Stevie Wonder to enter Apollo Legends Hall of Fame
Written by admin on February 4, 2011 – 8:27 am -Stevie Wonder will be inducted into the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame at the Apollo Theater’s Annual Spring Gala on June 13. This is a poignant tribute for the Motown Legend as he sang at the Apollo at the very start of his career, earning the nickname the “Wonder Child.”
The Gala Benefit Concert and Awards Ceremony will be a star-studded event to raise funds for the non-profit theater’s initiatives for emerging artists and community and educational programs in New York City and beyond. |
Past inductees into the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame include Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Quincy Jones, Smokey Robinson, James Brown, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Little Richard, and Ella Fitzgerald.
Here’s three good reasons for Wonder’s induction into the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame.
Stevie Wonder – “Superstition”
Stevie Wonder – “Uptight (Everything’s Alright)”
Stevie Wonder – “Living for the City”
