Springsteen tops Rolling Stone’s Greatest Live Act list
Written by admin on July 31, 2013 – 8:53 pm -Bruce Springsteen has been voted the Greatest Live Act working now by a panel of writers, industry figures and artists convened by Rolling Stone magazine.
To be eligible for the list, performers must have toured within the last five years and not announced their retirement.
Springsteen was voted tops for the “nearly superhuman levels of energy to his shows” and the variety of his setlists. As noted by the magazine, “Each night’s highlight is different”.
The top ten acts were:
- Bruce Springsteen
- Prince
- The Rolling Stones
- Arcade Fire
- Neil Young
- Jay Z
- Radiohead
- Jack White
- Rage Against the Machine
- My Morning Jacket.
Among the other veteran acts in the list were U2 (#11), Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (#13), Paul McCartney (#15), Tom Waits (#22), Leonard Cohen (#26), Patti Smith (#28), Madonna (#30), and Rush (#39).
