Roy Orbison MERCY! collectors’ label to release 1981 show
Written by admin on April 22, 2013 – 6:17 pm -The Roy Orbison estate has announced that a Roy Orbison collector’s label titled MERCY! will be launched on April 23, coinciding with what would have been the late star’s 77th birthday. The label’s first release will be “Roy Orbison: Live at the Reseda Country Club,” which features a 1981 concert performance.
The Reseda Country Club show has been bootlegged in low-fi sound, but receives its official debut on the new label in a newly remixed and mastered format. Two tracks from the album were included as bonus cuts on Orbison’s Greatest Hits DVD.
The press release states that releases on the MERCY! label will “span The Big O’s full recording and performing career” and that many more titles will follow the Reseda release.
“Roy Orbison: Live at the Reseda Country Club” is available exclusively at RoyOrbisonLive.com as a digital download, with an appealing introductory price for the first week.
