Rolling Stones’ “Crossfire Hurricane” hits the small screen
Written by admin on November 15, 2012 – 6:05 pm -“Crossfire Hurricane,” the Rolling Stones documentary celebrating the band’s 50th anniversary, debuts on HBO tonight at 9pm, ahead of its UK television premiere on Saturday.
The film, directed by Brett Morgen, chronicles the Rolling Stones’ journey from blues-obsessed teenagers to rock legends, with the use of extensive historical footage, much of it widely unseen, and contemporary commentaries by Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Ronnie Wood and former Stones Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor. |
“Crossfire Hurricane” will be shown in two parts on UK television, with Part One commencing a night of Rolling Stones programming on BBC Two on Saturday November 17. “Crossfire Hurricane – Part One” kicks off the night at 10.15pm, with “…Sings Rolling Stones” and “The Rolling Stones Rock And Roll Circus” following. BBC Two will show Part Two of “Crossfire Hurricane” on Saturday, November 24 at 9.45pm.

BBC Radio 2 is also celebrating the band’s 50th anniversary with a series of interviews and shows, kicking off with Jo Whiley’s interview with Mick Jagger at 8pm tonight (Nov 15), which is followed by “The Rolling Stones At The BBC” at 10pm.
“Crossfire Hurricane” is released on DVD and Blu-ray in January, 2013 in the UK and will debut in May in North America.
