“Rod Stewart – Tonight’s The Night: Live 1976-1998” is a new 4-CD box set that features 58 previously unreleased live highlights from Rod Stewart’s tours of the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s. The collection features well known classics such as “Maggie May,” “You Wear It Well,” and “Every Picture Tells A Story,” lesser known album tracks, and covers of Brit pop material by Primal Scream and Oasis.

The music is presented chronologically, beginning with music from Stewart’s 1976 European tour, which supported his “A Night On The Town” album. Disc Two covers the period 1976-1981, opening with the anthemic “Sailing” and closing with his “Hot Legs” duet with Tina Turner.

Disc Three covers 1984-1989, including some of Stewart’s best loved songs, such as “You’re In My Heart (The Final Acclaim),” and “Some Guys Have All The Luck,” as well as covers of songs by Otis Redding (“(Sittin’ On) The Dock Of The Bay”/”Try A Little Tenderness”) and Bruce Springsteen (“Hungry Heart”).

The final disc features tracks from 1991 to 1998, opening with the hit “Downtown Train” and including covers of artists spanning the 1950s through to the then current Brit pop of Primal Scream (“Rocks”) and Oasis (“Cigarettes and Alcohol”).
