Rod Stewart confirms new rock album
Written by admin on October 29, 2012 – 6:43 pm -Rod Stewart has told Billboard.com that he will release a new rock album in the spring of 2013, tentatively titled “Love the Life You Live”. It will be his first rock album since 2001’s “Human”.
Stewart told Billboard:
“It’s all done mate. I produced it myself. It’s all finished, mixed, everything…. Just a good, old-fashioned Rod Stewart album [with] a lot of mandolin and acoustic [guitar] and fiddles and good storytelling, I believe, too.” |
He also commented on how he has rediscovered his love for songwriting:
“About a year ago I was sitting at my house in England, and (Jim Cregan) came around and said, ‘Come on, let’s try to write a song.’ And I said, ‘No, I can’t be bothered. Those days are over.’ But we sat down, I started humming a melody and he took it away and sent it back and said, ‘Listen, this is pretty good,’ so I wrote some words for it and ever since then it’s been just flowing like a river. The songs just keep going. An issue which I thought had long past and which I’d given up, songwriting, has come back, and I’m thoroughly enjoying it.” |
Ahead of the new rock album is a Christmas release from Rod titled “Merry Christmas, Baby”. Here’s a clip of Rod singing “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!”:
This month also saw the publication of the entertaining and frank “Rod – The Autobiography”. The book and Christmas album are available from the links below:
