Robert Plant “Band of Joy” – video preview
Written by admin on July 29, 2010 – 9:09 pm -A ten-minute video promo for Robert Plant’s forthcoming album “Band of Joy” suggests it will be a real treat for fans of the former Led-Zeppelin frontman.
“Band of Joy” is Robert Plant’s first release since the six-time Grammy-winning bluegrass album “Raising Sand” with collaborator Alison Krauss in 2007. The new album is named for Plant’s original, pre-Zeppelin group, which also featured John Bonham. |
“Band of Joy” includes covers of Townes Van Zandt’s “Harms Swift Way,” the spiritual classic “Satan, Your Kingdom Must Come Down,” 60s soul ballad “Falling in Love Again,” the Beatles-inspired “You Can’t Buy My Love” and Los Lobos’ “Angel Dance,” which will be the first single.

In addition to Plant on lead vocals, the “Band of Joy” musicians are:
- Patty Griffin – vocals
- Darrell Scott – multiple instruments and vocals
- Byron House – bass and vocals
- Marco Giovino – drums, percussion and vocals
- Buddy Miller – guitar and vocals.
The group played their first show on July 13 at the Orpheum Theatre in Memphis, Tennessee and will close their mini tour on July 31 at the Bayfront Park Amphitheater in Miami, Florida.
