Ray Davies of the Kinks is set to play the “legends slot” on the Pyramid Stage at the 40th anniversay Glastonbury Festival. He will perform at 5pm on the Sunday (June 27). Neil Diamond and Page & Plant are among the artists who have previously filled the 5pm Sunday slot.

“Ray Davies with his friends and with a choir and all those Kinks songs are going to be absolutely unbelievable,” Michael Eavis told eFestivals.co.uk. “Ray has got the 5 o’clock slot, the legend’s slot. His songs are so original and unique, it’s going to be great.”

U2, Muse and Stevie Wonder are the headliners for this year’s Glastonbury Festival, which runs from Wed June 23 to Sun June 27.

The final batch of Glastonbury tickets are set to go on sale on April 11 via seetickets.com

Ray Davies has just concluded a successful US acoustic tour and is set to commence his largest UK tour for many years in May. This will feature his full band and will include a gig at the Royal Albert Hall on May 23.
