Prince to headline Glastonbury?
Written by admin on February 17, 2014 – 10:21 am -Prince will headline the Pyramid Stage on the final night of this year’s Glastonbury Festival, according to a source who spoke to the Daily Mirror.
The source says that Prince and Glastonbury organiser, Michael Eavis, have met up and agreed terms:
“They met in London and a deal was struck. The reaction towards Prince during his time in the capital has been immense and it cemented his desire to play at Glastonbury. He is determined to raise the bar and give a set to remember. There will be a few surprises in store.”
Prince has been in England recently performing intimate shows with his band 3rdEyeGirl, including a surprise Valentine’s Day show at Kings Place in King’s Cross. He will play London Ronnie Scott’s tonight (February 17) and gigs in Manchester on the 21st and 22nd (venues to be confirmed). He will present the first BRIT Award of 2014 on February 19 at the O2 Arena, London.
Rumours that Prince will headline Glastonbury have occurred in the past and come to nothing, so this should certainly be treated as nothing more than a rumour until there is official confirmation.
