Phil Collins’ “Going Back” hits number one

Phil Collins has hit number one in the UK album chart with “Going Back.”
“Going Back” is an album of Motown cover songs which debuted at number four last week and hit the top spot today. I’m sure this was helped by Collins’ television special on ITV last weekend. |
This is Phil Collins’ sixth solo number one album in the UK and the first time he has hit the top since “Hits” in 1998. He has also had five UK number one albums as a member of Genesis.
“Going Back” is available as a single CD standard edition or a deluxe edition which includes a bonus DVD. The album will be released in the US on Tuesday.
Phil Collins isn’t the only veteran in the top 10 of this week’s UK album chart. Robert Plant is at number five with his critically acclaimed “Band of Joy” which debuted at number three last week and also hit the top five in the US.
