Pete Seeger covers Dylan’s “Forever Young” for Amnesty International
Written by admin on March 19, 2012 – 6:37 am -Today sees the release of Pete Seeger’s cover of the Bob Dylan song “Forever Young” on digital single and music video. The song, which benefits Amnesty International, comes out on the 50th anniversary of the release of Bob Dylan’s self-titled debut album.
“Forever Young” is supported by a grass roots movement that aims to make 92-year-old Pete Seeger the oldest musician to reach the music charts. The current record is held by 85-year-old Tony Bennett. Seeger has had chart success in the past as a member of the 1950s folk group the Weavers, and as an arranger or composer of hits in the 1960s, including “If I Had A Hammer”, “Where Have All The Flowers Gone?”, “We Shall Overcome” and the Byrds’ chart topper “Turn! Turn! Turn!” |
