“Paul Simon – Under African Skies” included on “Graceland” reissues
Written by admin on January 17, 2012 – 5:38 pm -A documentary about the making and lasting influence of Paul Simon’s “Graceland” album will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 22. “Paul Simon – Under African Skies” was directed by two-time Emmy and Peabody Award winning director Joe Berlinger. The film will get a limited theatrical release and is also scheduled to be aired on A&E.
“Paul Simon – Under African Skies” shows Simon travel back to South Africa for a reunion concert with the original “Graceland” musicians. It also features interviews with anti-apartheid activists of the time, and music legends such as Paul McCartney and Quincy Jones. |
The screening of “Paul Simon – Under African Skies” begins a year long celebration to mark the 25th anniversary of “Graceland.” In May, you can expect the release of a deluxe collector’s box set and a special two-disc set, each featuring the original album with bonus tracks and the director’s cut of “Under African Skies.”
