News on Jerry Garcia biopic
Written by admin on July 23, 2010 – 7:17 am -The long-rumoured biopic about the Grateful Dead’s frontman, Jerry Garcia, has moved one step closer, with a director on board and script written.
Jerry Garcia was a founding member of the Grateful Dead in 1965, aged 23, and fronted the band until his death in 1995. Unusually, it’s thought that the movie will focus on Garcia’s life before the Grateful Dead years. |
The script for the untitled movie has been written by Topper Lilien, based on Robert Greenfield’s “Dark Star” book. It will be directed by Amir Bar-Lev, who has received praise for his work on “The Tillman Story.”
There is no news on who will play the Jerry Garcia role, but names such as Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Inception) and Seth Rogen (Knocked Up, Funny People) have been mentioned.
