New Springsteen single for Record Store Day
Written by admin on March 23, 2010 – 10:30 am -Bruce Springsteen will release two live tracks as a 10-inch vinyl single in April to mark Record Store Day.
Record Store Day is an annual event during which collectible vinyl is released in an effort to drive music lovers to independent music stores.
Springsteen is one of many artists supporting Record Store Day 2010. His contribution is a single containing “Wrecking Ball” live from Giants Stadium on the A side and “The Ghost of Tom Joad,” performed with Tom Morello, on the B side. |
Commenting on Record Store Day, Springsteen said:
“I buy CDs all the time. I’ll go into a record store and just buy $500 worth of CDs. I will! I am singlehandedly supporting what’s left of the record business.
I hate to see record stores disappear, and I’m old-school in that I think you should pay for your music. But what my kids do is download a lot of things, pay for them, and then if they love something, they’ll get the CD. That may be the future.”
The “Wrecking Ball” single will be available from select music stores on April 17.
