New exhibit for The Doors, Joplin & Hendrix
Written by admin on April 8, 2010 – 1:22 am -An exhibit that explores the legacies and impact of The Doors, Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix opened at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles this week.
The Doors, Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix
The Strange Kozmic Experience exhibit features a wide range of exciting items and artifacts, including:
- Janis Joplin’s custom-painted 1965 Porsche 356c Cabriolet
- Jim Morrison’s never-before-seen journals
- handwritten lyrics and letters
- iconic wardrobe pieces
- original paintings by Joplin
- instruments used during some of the 1960s most important performances and recordings
- ticket stubs, concert posters and fan memorabilia
- photographs from iconic 1960s photographers, Joel Brodsky, Jim Marshall, Elliott Landy, Lisa Law, Eddie Kramer, and more
- 1960s poster art.
The Strange Kozmic Experience exhibit is open until January 31, 2011.
