New British Invasion DVDs
Written by admin on March 30, 2010 – 7:49 am -Today sees the release of a new DVD series that chronicles the artists that formed part of the British Invasion in the 1960s.
The first four volumes deal with:
- Dusty Springfield – “Once Upon a Time 1964-1969”
- Small Faces – “All or Nothing 1965-1968”
- Gerry & the Pacemakers – “It’s Gonna Be All Right 1963-1965”
- Herman’s Hermits – “Listen People 1964-1969.”
Each DVD contains vintage television performances, commentary on the acts by musicians, producers and the artists themselves, and a 24 page booklet by well known rock historians.
The DVDs can also be purchased as a box set, with a fifth disc of bonus material. |
There will be a launch party for the DVDs at the British Consulate in New York on April 8. Among those in attentance will be Dusty Springfield’s former manager Vicki Wickham, Small Faces keyboardist Ian McLagan and Herman’s Hermits guitarist Keith Hopwood. Details of another British Invasion box set in the fall and a third in 2011 will also be revealed at the party.
