Michael Jackson’s “Michael” misses top spot
Written by admin on December 22, 2010 – 8:21 pm -| The new Michael Jackson album, “Michael“, has missed out in the battle for the number one position on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
The late singer’s ninth studio album did chart strongly though, reaching number three and selling 228,000 copies in its first week. This was in line with expectations, but down on the 373,000 first week sales of last year’s number one album “This is it.” |

The Christmas number one spot went to Taylor Swift with “Speak Now“, which knocked Susan Boyle’s “The Gift” off the top spot. The top two albums sold 259,000 and 254,000, respectively.
In the UK, “Michael” reached number four on its first week of release. Take That held on to the top spot with “Progress.” Robbie Williams was also in the top ten with his greatest hits album “In and Out of Consciousness.”
