Jackson fans are gathering at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, California, to celebrate his life. Candles and flowers are also being left at Jackson’s Neverland Ranch and at his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
In New York, the Apollo Theatre is staging a commemoration of Jackson’s life. He was recently inducted into the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame.
Michael Jackson’s three children are expected to mark the anniversary along with their grandmother and guardian Katherine at the former family home in Gary, Indiana.
Billboard estimates that Jackson’s earnings in the past year have hit $1 billion, including $383 million from album sales and $400 million from the film “This Is It.”
