Merry Clayton injured in car crash
Written by admin on June 22, 2014 – 1:49 pm -Merry Clayton has been involved in a car accident that has left her with serious injuries. The crash took place on June 16 in Los Angeles.
A statement on Clayton’s website reads as follows:
Merry was involved in a major automobile accident. Merry sustained severe injuries to her lower body, including major trauma to her lower extremities. We are truly grateful that our dear Merry is still with us.
The 65-year-old singer has released her own solo material but is best known for providing backing vocals for acts such as the Rolling Stones (“Gimme Shelter”).
Clayton was one of the featured performers in the 2013 documentary “20 Feet From Stardom” which won an Academy Award for best documentary.
