Lost Hendrix tape up for sale
Written by admin on April 27, 2009 – 5:06 pm -A tape featuring unheard recordings made by Jimi Hendrix is expected to sell for $220,000 (£150,000) at auction tomorrow. |
The tape features 14 tracks recorded at Jimi’s home in New York in 1968, including a Bob Dylan cover and “softer” versions of numbers from the rock legend’s Electric Ladyland album.
The tape will be auctioned by pop memorabilia auctioneers Fame Bureau. Fame Bureau managing director, Ted Owen, said:
‘I have listened to nearly every outtake of Jimi Hendrix and am very familiar with the personal reels. Thirty seven are known to exist, but now only one is out there in the public domain.’
