Linda Ronstadt returns to charts with “Duets”
Written by admin on April 21, 2014 – 9:44 pm -Linda Ronstadt’s new compilation, “Duets,” has given Ronstadt her highest placing on the US album chart since her 1990 album “Cry Like a Rainstorm, Howl Like the Wind.”
“Duets” entered the Billboard 200 at #32 a week after Ronstadt was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She did not attend the ceremony because she suffers from Parkinson’s disease and finds travel difficult, but there was an all-star tribute to her during the ceremony by Sheryl Crow, Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, Carrie Underwood, and Glenn Frey.
The “Duets” compilation features an unreleased performance with Laurie Lewis on “Pretty Bird,” and collaborations with the likes of Dolly Parton, Frank Sinatra, Don Henley, Aaron Neville, and James Ingram.
