Kate Bush is returning to the stage
Written by admin on March 21, 2014 – 7:36 pm -Kate Bush has surprised the music world by announcing that she will return to the stage with a series of shows at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, London.
Bush made the announcement via a simple message on her website:
“I am delighted to announce that we will be performing some live shows this coming August and September. I hope you will be able to join us and I look forward to seeing you there.”
The 15 “Before the Dawn” shows will be her first extensive run of shows since she toured in 1979. The show dates are as follows:
- Tuesday, 26th August
- Wednesday, 27th August
- Friday, 29th August
- Saturday, 30th August
- Tuesday, 2nd September
- Wednesday, 3rd September
- Friday, 5th September
- Saturday, 6th September
- Tuesday, 9th September
- Wednesday, 10th September
- Friday, 12th September
- Saturday, 13th September
- Tuesday, 16th September
- Wednesday, 17th September
- Friday, 19th September.
Tickets for the “Before the Dawn” shows will go on sale at 09:30 GMT on Friday, 28 March.
No details have been provided about the format of the show or what songs might be performed, but given the length of time since she has been on stage, there will no doubt be many songs making their live debut.
Kate Bush’s last album was 2011’s “50 Words For Snow”. Last year she received a CBE for services to music.
