Julien Temple to direct Marvin Gaye biopic

Julien Temple is on board to direct a Marvin Gaye biopic, according to ScreenDaily.com. The movie is scheduled to start shooting later this year and is tentatively titled “Sexual Healing.”
Cameron Crowe and F. Garry Gary had both been linked with the project, but abandoned it. |
“Sexual Healing” will concentrate on the period that Gaye was living in Ostend, Belgium and recording his final studio album, “Midnight Love.” There is no news on who will play the Motown legend.
Temple has previously directed the Sex Pistols documentaries “Great Rock ‘n’ Roll Swindle” and “The Filth and the Fury”, the Joe Strummer documentary “Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten” and the Paul Weller documentary “Paul Weller: Find the Torch.” He has also been linked with the forthcoming dramatisation of the Kinks’ story.
