John Lennon’s letters to be published
Written by admin on January 22, 2011 – 7:00 pm -A large number of John Lennon’s letters will be published next year after Yoko Ono sold the rights for a reported £500,000.
Orion Books successfully bid for the collection of 150 letters and plans to publish them in book form in October 2012 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ first hit “Love Me Do.” |
John Lennon was a prolific letter writer and the collection contains notes written to record companies, newspapers and to a young eight-year-old fan.
Alan Samson of Orion Books said:
“These letters have never been collected in one place before, and for the most part they have never been seen before. The other reason people have gone crazy for it is the fact that there are half a dozen icons of the 20th century, – Marilyn Monroe, Kennedy, Elvis – and Lennon is one of them.” |
