Jimmy Fallon to pay tribute to Bob Marley
Written by admin on May 4, 2011 – 7:23 am -Musical guests on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” will pay tribute to Bob Marley throughout next week to mark the 30th anniversary of the reggae legend’s death.
The five-day tribute will commence on Monday, May 9, with a performance by Bob’s son, Ziggy. He will be followed by Chris Cornell (May 10), Jennifer Hudson (May 11), Jakob Dylan (May 12) and Lenny Kravitz (May 13). Each artist will play a classic Marley song. |
“Big up Jimmy Fallon for honoring the memory of my father. Much respect,” said son Ziggy who will be touring Europe in June/July to promote his new album “Wild and Free.”
February saw the release of “Bob Marley: Live Forever,” which featured Marley’s last recorded concert, held at the Stanley Theatre in Pittsburgh PA. in September 1980. This was released as a 2 CD deluxe edition and 2 CD/3 LP super deluxe edition. Here’s the promo, including commentary from Marley’s family:
Bob Marley died on May 11, 1981 aged 36.
