Hucknall joins the Faces for reunion tour
Written by admin on August 12, 2010 – 1:08 am -The Faces have kicked off their reunion tour with an intimate gig in front of 400 people at the British Music Experience at London’s O2 Arena. Original frontman Rod Stewart chose not to rejoin the band, but Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall proved to be a popular replacement with the crowd.
Hucknall first sang with the Faces last October during a one off charity gig at the Royal Albert Hall, where the band played with a number of guest vocalists. |
As well as Hucknall, the Faces line up includes original members Ronnie Wood on guitar, Kenny Jones on drums and Ian McLagen on keyboards. Former member of the Sex Pistols, Glen Matlock, has taken on bass duties.
Ronnie Wood has given his thumbs up to Mick Hucknall:
“We do miss Rod but having Mick here is just unbelievable because it’s one of those situations that you probably at first think wouldn’t work but it’s magic.” |
The Faces next gig is this Friday (August 13) at the “Vintage at Goodwood” festival. “Vintage at Goodwood” is the first of what will be an annual music and fashion led celebration of British cool from the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s & 80s.
