Written by admin on February 25, 2009 – 12:42 pm -

Today would have been George Harrison’s 66th birthday. The Beatles legend was born on 25 February 1943, the last of four children to Louise and Harold Harrison. He sadly died aged just 58 on 29 November 2001.
George Harrison While often labelled the ‘quiet Beatle’, George played a vital role in the development of the band’s sound and was an integral part of their success. Although clearly overshadowed on the songwriting front by Lennon and McCartney, George did pen a number of classic songs in this period, including Here Comes the Sun, Something and While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

To celebrate his birthday, head over to the video section for some of his greatest songs:

His best songs had as much depth as anything Lennon or McCartney wrote. Definitely missed.
