The latest Elvis title to get the “Legacy Edition” treatment is the 1973 chart topping album “Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite”.

The two-disc “Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite – Legacy Edition” will feature the original album as well as a remixed version of the “Alternate Aloha” show which was a rehearsal recorded two days before the main show and originally released in 1988.

“Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite” was issued in February 1973, one month after the broadcast of the groundbreaking satellite television special which aired on January 14, 1973 in 40 countries. The US had to wait until April to see the show, which was an extended version featuring five tracks recorded after the audience had left. These bonus tracks close Disc Two of the Legacy Edition, which features the January 12 rehearsal show.

“Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite – Legacy Edition” is released on March 19. Ahead of that is the UK release on January 21 of “Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite” on 180gsm vinyl, which was released in the US/Canada last October. This is the original album only, not the Legacy Edition.
